O3 disconnected for corrective maintenance

Early Monday, November 30th, Oskarshamn 3 (O3) was disconnected from grid for a shorter stop. It was in connection with the restart after the annual outage that the need for corrective measures was identified in the turbine's generator equipment.

The production management chose to interrupt the restart after the outage at approximately 700 MW of power. At that power level, data was collected to investigate whether further power increase could continue. The assessment was that the measures necessary to be taken presupposed the production to be stopped temporarily.

- A valve in the steam line system needs to be sealed and we need to look into a few things in the turbine’s generator equipment, says Robert Linnsand, Head of Production Support.
Considering the extensive work carried out during this year’s outage, it is not uncommon for such adjustment needs to arise.
