Medical Examination

All individuals who will work in a radiological environment, must have passed a medical examination prior to starting to work.

You may undergo a radiological medical examination carried out by your own corporate medical care or by another care institution. The certificate of approved medical examination/periodic check must be submitted to the dosimetry prior to, or handed in to the reception upon your arrival.

Please note that your health declaration form must be sent for assessment to the doctor who you performed your medical examination. The doctor then issues a certificate of service for periodic check-ups.

It is the contractor's responsibility to ensure that the medical examination/periodic check-ups are repeated according to prescribed rules for the staff who have continued duties with ionizing radiation. The contractor is responsible for all costs related to medical examinations and health declarations.

Refresher Requirements

The medical examination must be undergone at least every third year, and with a periodic check of your state of health the intermediate two years, when the medical examination is not carried out.

Effective doses

If you have received doses outside the Swedish nuclear facilities during the past year, this must be reported on arrival to the reception on a specifik OKG-form.
