Press Release: Oskarshamn 1 Producing Again

In the night between 3 and 4 August Oskarshamn 1 tripped due to a disturbance on the outer grid. This caused the aggregate breaker and the generator breaker to turn off, which consequently resulted in a turbine scram and steam dumping inhibition. Following routine trouble shooting it was established that the unit had behaved exactly as expected and that all safety functions had functioned normally.

 

A report from E.ON Elnät Sverige showed that the disturbance on the outer grid was caused by an earth fault on a 130 kilovolt line and that trouble shooting on the whole power lane between Simpevarp and Hultsfred had been carried out. Thus Oskarshamn 1 could resume its production.
