Press Release: Oskarshamn 3 Leaves the Grid for a Planned Short Interruption

2010-05-25
During Sunday Oskarshamn 3 leaves the grid for a planned short operational interruption in order to, among others, exchange fuel.

On Sunday, 23 May a planned short interruption is commenced on Oskarshamn 3 in order to, among others, exchange fuel in the core as well as perform planned yearly testing. The short operational interruption of nine days will also contain other planned maintenance measures.

Usually the exchange of fuel takes place in connection with the yearly outages. This year the Oskarshamn 3 outage has been postponed approximately four months due to the need of first completing the test program, which is part of the modernization activities. This means that the facility must be subject to the whole test program having been carried out until attaining the full output of 1 450 MW, in order to achieve measurable results, which are needed for the yearly outage. The postponement entails that a fuel exchange and the yearly testing must be carried out during a separate short operational interruption.

For any changes in the time schedule for the short operational interruption of Oskarshamn 3, please refer to the home page of the Nordic electricity market exchange, Nordpool.
