Unit Oskarshamn 3 has Resumed the Electricity Deliveries

Pressrelease Monday, December 07, 2015

After nearly two weeks of maintenance activities, unit Oskarshamn 3 (O3) resumed the electricity deliveries early on 3 December. Maximum capacity is estimated to be reached after the weekend.

Two out of the reactor's seven hundred fuel assemblies have been replaced since abrasion damages had been verified. This measure was taken in order to prevent the damages from resulting in fouling of the absolutely clean water in the reactor vessel.

– Since cold weather is just around the corner, it is a good thing that we have taken these measures now as we still have mild weather in Sweden, says Johan Dasht, production manager at unit O3. We are now looking forward to stable electricity deliveries from unit O3 until the outage scheduled to start on 29 May 2016.
