Resumed Electricity Deliveries at OKG – The Outage at Unit Oskarshamn 1 has been completed

Pressrelease Tuesday, June 09, 2015

Early in the morning of this past Saturday, unit Oskarshamn 1 (O1) was again synchronized to the grid after the annual outage had been completed. Maximum electricity delivery is estimated to be reached later this week when the initial test period has been completed.

In addition to the refuelling and the usual preventive and corrective maintenance activities, work such as the replacement of one of the standby diesel generators took place, as well as service of another one. All of the scheduled outage activities were performed according to plan, but due to additional work and tests performed on a valve in the conventional turbine equipment, the time schedule was extended by approximately two weeks.

During this outage, measures have also been taken to the turbine equipment with the aim to handle the vibrations which during this past year have limited the production. The restart of unit O1 is initiated with a test period in order to verify the effect of the measures taken. Subsequently, the aim is to produce electricity at maximum power until the next outage period at the end of March, 2016.

At unit Oskarshamn 3 (O3), the annual outage is in progress, and the safety modernisation at unit Oskarshamn 2 (O2) is at the same time currently in an intense stage with start-up of a number of various systems and components.
