    OKG's board of directors has today appointed the present production manager at unit Oskarshamn 3, Johan Dasht, new Managing Director of OKG as from 1 January, 2016. Johan Dasht succeeds Johan Svenningsson who after three and a half years as the managing director of OKG now will be the Country Chairman of the parent company Uniper in Sweden.

    After nearly two weeks of maintenance activities, unit Oskarshamn 3 (O3) resumed the electricity deliveries early on 3 December. Maximum capacity is estimated to be reached after the weekend.

  • Temporary Shutdown at unit Oskarshamn 3 for the Purpose of Replacing a Fuel Assembly

    The production at unit Oskarshamn 3 (O3) will be temporarily shut down on Saturday 21 November due to a damaged fuel assembly that must be replaced. The time required to complete the measure has been estimated at eight days and the intention is to have the reactor in operation again on 29 November.

  • Decision Made Regarding Premature Shutdown of Units Oskarshamn 1 and Oskarshamn 2

    At an extraordinary shareholders’ meeting held today on 14 October 2015, OKG’s majority owner E.ON upheld their policy decision on the premature shutdown of units Oskarshamn 1 (O1) and Oskarshamn 2 (O2). However, this decision does not affect OKG’s largest reactor, Oskarshamn 3 (O3), which in the future will still be a central part of the stability of the Swedish electricity supply.

  • Johan Svenningsson appointed President of Uniper, Sweden

    The Managing Director of OKG, Johan Svenningsson has been appointed president of Uniper’s Swedish operations and president of Sydkraft Nuclear Power AB, formerly known as E.ON Kärnkraft Sverige AB. This means that Svenningsson will resign his position as Managing Director of OKG. The process of finding and appointing his successor has been initiated.

  • Restart of Unit Oskarshamn 1 Obstructed

    A technical failure on a valve resulted in that the restart of unit Oskarshamn 1 (O1) was stopped on Thursday evening. The operational disturbance occurred in connection with a compulsory performance test and an internal analysis has been initiated to establish the cause of the valve not functioning as expected.

    The measures at Oskarshamn 1 (O1) and Oskarshamn 3 (O3) have been very successful. Unit Oskarshamn 1 resumed the production on the night before this past Sunday, one day sooner than estimated, and unit Oskarshamn 3 resumed the electricity production last night, a few hours sooner than scheduled.

    The electricity deliveries from unit Oskarshamn 3 (O3) to the Swedish grid were resumed on 20 June, after disturbances that occurred during the power ascent following the annual outage. Unit Oskarshamn 1 (O1) was taken off the grid on Sunday 21 June for a scheduled shut down for maintenance work.

  • Unit Oskarshamn 3 Restarted According to Plan after the Outage – Problems Detected during the Power Ascent

    On Sunday 14 June, unit Oskarshamn 3 (O3), the largest boiling water reactor in the world, was restarted according to plan after the annual outage had been completed. However, the power ascent had to be discontinued due to disturbances in the turbine plant, and analysis and measures are currently being performed in order to restart the facility.
