Unit Oskarshamn 3 Resumes Operation after Measures Taken on Valve

Pressrelease Monday, December 19, 2016

On Saturday 17 December, unit Oskarshamn 3 (O3) resumed the delivery of climate efficient electricity to the Swedish grid, after successful and effective measures had been taken.

Last week, a minor steam leak was detected from a valve in the reactor building at unit O3. A decision to remedy the leakage was made on 15 December, which entailed that the production at the unit had to be temporarily shut down. After only two days and successful measures taken, unit O3 was restarted on Saturday morning 17 December. Unit Oskarshamn 3 is scheduled to deliver electricity at maximum power by 7 January, 2017.
