Unit Oskarshamn 1 Shut Down due to Valve Problems

Pressrelease Monday, December 05, 2016

On 3 December, the production at unit Oskarshamn 1 (O1) was shut down due to problems with a valve in the conventional turbine plant.

An oil leak in the conventional turbine plant resulted in the Shift Supervisor making the decision to shut down the unit on Saturday 3 December, in order to take the required measures. The oil leak is caused by problems with a valve, and troubleshooting is currently being performed to find the root cause.

– All the safety systems have responded in the intended way and we are now working intensely on taking the required measures in order to be able to restart the unit, says Mikael Wramsjö, Production Manager at unit O1.

The restart is scheduled for Friday 9 December.

At unit Oskarshamn 3 (O3) there is currently an operational interruption in progress to handle fuel damage, and the restart is scheduled for Friday 9 December.
