2010-03-01: After nearly two months of test operation of the modernized third reactor in Oskarshamn, a temporary operational interruption was performed in the middle of February. The date set for resuming the operation has now been postponed. The reason being that the delivered important valves controlling the turbine steam flow have faulty construction and require reconstruction. The new starting date for a few more weeks of test operation has now been preliminary set to March 22.

Press Release: Trial Operations at Modernized Oskarshamn 3 Continues - Short Interruption for Measures in Safety Systems Forthcoming |
2010-02-16: In connection with the modernizing activities at Oskarshamn 3 the plant will be turned from the grid in order to attend to one of the facility’s safety systems. During the interruption of operations continued inspections and measures enabling continued ascent to full power will be carried out.

Press Release: Modernization of OKG’s reactors performed in 2009 provides a basis for future record high production |
2010-01-19: The delays of the extensive modernization work that took place at OKG’s plant last year resulted in a reduction of the electricity supply with approximately forty per cent compared to 2008. To mention one example, the work conducted in order to increase the safety as well as the capacity at Oskarshamn 3 caused a downtime of nine months instead of the planned three months. However, the measures taken create good conditions for future record high production levels.
